Croatian athlete Boran Berak, competing in the -67 kg category, secured a bronze medal match at the European Championships in Zadar. In an exceptionally exciting semifinal match against the world runner-up, Montenegrin karateka Nenad Dulović, he was defeated with a score of 6:3.
In the eliminations of the Championships, Boran triumphed against representatives from Ukraine, Denmark, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the first round, he defeated Hnat Pak with a score of 8:3, in the second round Marcus Kjaerbol with 3:1, and the match against Bekir Grabus ended 1 minute and 28 seconds before the time expired with a score of 9:0.
The bronze medal match in the -67 kg category is scheduled for Saturday, 11 May at 4:30 PM according to the preliminary schedule. Boran’s opponent will be announced later.
