Croatian Karate Union
The Croatian Karate Union (CKU), in cooperation with the European Karate Federation (EKF), is the organizer of the European Senior Karate and Para-Karate Championships Zadar 2024.
The Croatian Karate Union is the national governing body for karate in Croatia, established in 1970. Throughout its over fifty-year history, the Federation, alongside its members, has developed a system of work, organization, and competition implementation at the local, national, and international levels that can be compared with the strongest and most modern systems in Europe and the world. It became a member of the European Karate Federation and the World Karate Federation in 1992 and has been fostering successful relationships with other international federations for over thirty years, thereby strengthening its position and the position of Croatian sports.
The main goal of the Croatian Karate Union is to promote, develop, and enhance karate sport to achieve top sporting success at the international level. Its activities are based on the Sports Act, the Statute of the Croatian Olympic Committee of which it is a member, and the needs of Croatian karate sport. The Federation is governed by the Assembly as the highest governing body, the President of the CKU elected by the Assembly, the Executive Board, and the Supervisory Board.
The CKU currently has 178 members – 164 clubs and 14 county associations, comprising 9.944 registered members, including athletes, coaches and referees.
